This workshop, dynamically led by the esteemed speech and language therapist, widely recognized in the field of stuttering, Anelise Bohnen, focuses on creating individualized treatment plans for children. It will equip speech-language pathologists (SLPs) with improved communication techniques to enhance child’s competencies. The workshop covers principles for working with older children, fostering high-quality communication, developing proprioceptive monitoring skills, and addressing post-therapy maintenance.

Objectives

• Discuss individualized treatment plans to meet each child’s needs.
• Discuss how SLPs may improve their own communication abilities (controlling speech rate, establishing models of smooth articulatory contacts, enhancing pro-active listening, providing feedback…) to improve the client’s own competencies to manage difficulties.
