From southern Ireland and married to composer and soprano Emily Magner Hurley, Con is a co-founder of Stuttering Awareness Mental Wellbeing Ireland. In his third decade in the classroom, he has dedicated that time to supporting student voice, inclusion and wellbeing with a particular focus on gifted students as well as students of verbal difference. He has been involved in numerous professional development initiatives in that time and is currently an associate with OIDE, the Government of Ireland’s professional support service for teachers as well as developing and presenting professional development workshops for teachers through a national network of teacher Education and Support Centres.
